The Fossil Food Blog

Hello!

Welcome to Fossil Food Catering’s new and shiny blog!

Fossil Food Catering for those of you who don’t know us are a wedding caterer based on the Devon/Dorset border who are passionate about creating a memorable wedding breakfast using the only the best local produce. We are on hand throughout wedding planning to offer our advice and make the process easy, simple and enjoyable. Then on the day itself deliver a high level service and ensure all of your plans come to life. Us as owners (Kirsty and Steve) know how important it is to build relationships therefore we only have availability for a selection of weddings a year that we know we can hand deliver ourselves with our lovely team. The personal touch goes a long way with us.

Our blog will strive to deliver new content here every other Friday which will vary from wedding tips and tricks, recipes using local and Devon and Dorset seasonal produce and documenting our journey through the wedding season.

We are absolutely delighted to have had a flying start to the wedding season of 2019 so far so naturally felt that our first official post should be dedicated to a those beautiful weddings! It is such a privilege to work with some ultra lovely couples who have trust in us to do our thing. We have also had the pleasure in working alongside some amazing local wedding suppliers that we want to shout out and tell you about. Our first post will be going live this Friday where you can read all about our first wedding of the season.

In the meantime have you checked out the launch of our new wedding sharing board menu? It is no secret that sharing boards are a popular style of wedding catering and for great reason – variety (there is something for everyone!) and guest interaction and creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Well we have taken all of the elements from our loved sharing boards and upgraded them to create something fun and unique. We are calling it ‘Carve Your Own’ which simply put is giving control to your guests and nominating a carver of the table to serve.  Menu choices range from slow cooked smoked leg of lamb to whole spatchcock chicken (yes both of these per board – no one is going hungry with us!) plus plenty of seasonal sides bespoke to your style and tastes. You could even take this up a notch and provide chef hats and aprons to add to the fun and makes for fun photos too. This type of style of serving is perfect for a Bride and Groom who wish to create a memorable, relaxed wedding breakfast serving some delicious food. You can find our full menu here. Would you try this style of wedding catering?

We would love to hear your thoughts!
