Based on the Devon, Dorset and Somerset border, Fossil Food Catering is a wedding catering company devised by couple - Steve and Kirsty.

About our catering

Steve and Kirsty live in the idyllic setting of Silverwood Farm in Devon, where they are constantly inspired by their lush countryside surroundings. They are situated just a stone’s throw away from the seaside town of Lyme Regis, famed for its intriguing fossils. Living within the heart of these remarkable settings on the Jurassic Coast means they are able to source the finest local produce available.

Environmental awareness
and a lack of travel

Both Steve and Kirsty are acutely aware of their ethical and environmental impact. The delicately crafted menus created by Steve include a wonderful array of food grown at their farm. From hand-rearing their own pigs to the succulent veg grown in the garden, they always strive to source the highest quality and freshest ingredients available.

The couple are avidly passionate foodies and love to travel. Upon returning from their travels, they realised they could infuse elements of various cuisine with their carefully sourced, local produce. Combining the love for their two favourite things (food and travel) they pour their heart and soul into their gastronomical creations. The result is astoundingly tasty; a hearty concoction of global flavours that remains true to the couple’s British roots.

The pair take great care during the build up of your day to ensure every detail is covered and believe relationships are important between caterer and couple when planning your wedding catering together. It is our job to ensure the journey is fun, exciting and stress-free!

It goes without saying that the dining experience plays a key role in making your big day a memorable occasion for all involved. Kirsty and Steve therefore understand the importance of crafting a menu sourced to include all of your favourite foods and flavours, as well as delivering the perfect dining ambience on your big day.

Steve – Head Chef

Head Chef Steve possesses an abundance of experience in wedding catering, after working in the catering and events industry throughout the UK and Australia for over 15 years. Having grown up on a farm, his love for food and cooking has been refined from a young age. 

Steve can often be found foraging for unique ingredients in the wild, or fishing by the seaside. He has even been known to dive for his own scallops! He skilfully utilises this passion he has for cooking when it comes to providing the perfect gastronomical offerings for your big day.

Kirsty – Chief Co-ordinator

As chief co-ordinator behind the company, Kirsty is responsible for ensuring your day runs smoothly behind the scenes as well as attentively taking care of you and your nearest and dearest from arrival to departure.

Usually the first point of contact when reaching out to Fossil Food Catering Kirsty coverers all details from planning with you right through to greeting you with fizz and a big smile following your ceremony to kick off your celebrations.

Kirsty’s constant desire to fulfil all couples’ wishes is invaluable when it comes to planning the day you’ve been dreaming of.

It takes a village...

Event catering takes a village, and here at Fossil we are surrounded by an amazing team that over the years has evolved into a family! If you have been to an event we have had the pleasure of catering (our own wedding included) you would have met the three-core crew. Between them, they have hundreds of wedding and event experiences racked up over the years working on the team.

Millie – Head of Guest Experience

You will always hear Millie before you see her - find her making guests laugh with her jokes, finding water for the bouquet, sniffing out Steve’s famous Fried Chicken or making sure your Grandma has a cup of tea just the way she likes it. A true diamond!

Freya – Dietary Queen

Freya, our resident dietary requirement queen! Freya’s role during the day is to ensure all guests with dietary requirements are well catered for throughout the meal between herself and the chefs all with a smile and ease. 

Emily – Drinks Goddess

Emily keeps you and your guests hydrated all day long – every guest’s best friend with such elegance and grace. Highly recommend trying an Aperol Spritz and English Garden prepared by Emily!
