Based on the Devon, Dorset and Somerset border, Fossil Food Catering is a wedding catering company devised by couple - Steve and Kirsty.

Our Story

Steve and Kirsty live in the idyllic setting of Silverwood Farm in Devon, where they are constantly inspired by their lush countryside surroundings. They are situated just a stone’s throw away from the seaside town of Lyme Regis, famed for its intriguing fossils. Living within the heart of these remarkable settings on the Jurassic Coast means they are able to source the finest local produce available.

Way Back When

Our journey began many years ago, backpacking and taste testing our way around South East Asia, where we dreamed up the idea of our own catering company. Inspired by vibrancy of the people and flavours Fossil Food Catering was born. 

Today, we've traded in rattling overnight bus journeys for Wedding Breakfast and filling champagne flutes, but our passion remains the same - people and flavours are still at the heart of everything we do. And when we can, we sneak in the odd foodie trip to keep our inspiration alive!

Entering wedding season number eight as Team Fossil (and many more years for others in the industry too) we have catered for everyone, from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations - including our very own wedding with some help from dear friends. We truly love what we do!

A Personal Touch

At Fossil Food Catering, we believe in more than just delivering amazing food - we believe in building relationships. We understand that trust between a couple and their caterer is crucial. After all, we have recently planned our own wedding, so we have expeirenced firsthand all the hardwork that goes into wedding planning. From the excitement of menu tastings to the last minute changes, we know how important it is to have reliable suppliers who have your back every step of the way. 

This is why we see ourselves as more than just your caterer - we're your in-house catering best friend. We are here for every moment from when you first reach out - from creating a fully bespoke menu that feels authentically you, sharing tips to keep your day running smoothly to packing away the very last plate at the end of the night. We have had couples call us at the last moment to adjust serving times or pivot new dietary requests, and we always make it work seamlessly with a smile. Our goal is to take as much off your plate (puns always intended!) as possible so both of you and everyone around you can focus on enjoying the big day.

Meet the team

Memorable food backed by incredible service! Everyone who is involved in Team Fossil loves what they do and the proof is in the pudding. The extra mile service is always delivered to ensure you and your favourite people are taken care of. 

Steve – Head Chef

Head Chef Steve possesses an abundance of experience in wedding catering, after working in the catering and events industry throughout the UK and Australia for over 25 years. Having grown up on a farm, his love for food and cooking has been refined from a young age. 

Steve can often be found foraging for unique ingredients in the wild, or fishing by the seaside. He has even been known to dive for his own scallops! He skilfully utilises this passion he has for cooking when it comes to providing the perfect gastronomical offerings for your big day.

Kirsty – Chief Co-ordinator

As chief co-ordinator behind the company, Kirsty is responsible for ensuring your day runs smoothly behind the scenes as well as attentively taking care of you and your nearest and dearest from arrival to departure.

Usually the first point of contact when reaching out to Fossil Food Catering Kirsty coverers all details from planning with you right through to greeting you with your own personal plate of canapes following your ceremony to kick off your celebrations.

In an industry where teams often change from event to event, we are fortuant to have a group of talented professionals who been by our side for years - some event catered our own wedding! Our team attends every wedding, offering the same familiar faces from your first chat to the final toast on your big day. This rare consistency in hospitality allows us to bring a level of trust, understanding and care that is hard to find. It also means we know each others strengths inside and out, so we can work in perfect harmony ensuring a seamless flow for your wedding or event.

Millie – Head of Guest Experience

You'll always hear Millie before you see her - she's the one making guests laugh with her quick wit, fetching water for bouquets, tracking down Steve's famous Fried Chicken, or brewing your Grandma's tea exactly how she likes it. A true gem, Millie ensures every guest feels special and looked after. 

Freya – Dietary Queen

Freya, is our resident dietary requirement queen. Her mission? To make sure every guest with specific needs is catered to wise ease and care. From coordinating with the chefs to serving with a smile, Freya ensures that guests with dietary requirements are seamlessly served throughout the day.

Emily – Drinks Goddess

Emily keeps you and your guests perfectly hydrated, serving drinks with elegance and grace. She is everyone's best friend when she is running your drinks station. Highly reccomend trying Emilys English Garden Cocktail, or an Aperol Spritz!
